موظف تنمية مجتمعية - جمعية بيت لحم العربية للتاهيل - بيت جالا

Bethlehem Arab Society for Rehabilitation (BASR), founded in 1960, is a non-profit non-government organization that is nationally recognized for the comprehensive specialized health, rehabilitation and development services it renders to the Palestinian population, particularly persons with disabilities, through its varied centre-based, outreach and community-based programs.

BASR is currently seeking Community Development Officer in Beit-Jala

Job Tasks:

-Designs, implements and facilitates capacity building and empowerment activities, training, awareness raising on various aspects of the rights of persons with disability targeting persons with disability, their families and respective organizations as well as relevant stakeholders.
-Contributes towards developing community understanding of and advocacy for the rights and needs of persons with disabilities, addressing and challenging barriers to their inclusion and full participation in society.
-Designs and provides staff development and training for all community programmes staff.
-Organizes community awareness and advocacy activities/campaigns as well as training programmes in disability related fields.
-Supports DPOs to devise advocacy strategies in the local and national context to influence policy change.
-Develops workable systems for regularly communicating and disseminating information to persons with disability, their families, DPOs, advocacy and related sectors.
-Writes reports and prepares key documents and resource materials in relation to awareness raising, capacity building and advocacy programmes in both Arabic and English.
-Assists in developing advocacy and lobbying initiatives with key stakeholders towards enforcing the disability related laws.
-Participates with the team in designing, implementing, and monitoring the programme plans to produce the desired outcomes as planned.
-Establishing the required networks and keeping tracks with the community based organizations and other community actors for the favour of disability issues.

Professional Qualifications:
-At least 3 years professional experience in community and/or disability work.
-Respects and contributes to promoting human rights particularly rights of persons with disability.
-Knowledge of project cycle management (PCM) approach.
-Strong interpersonal and team working skills.
-Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the all relevant stakeholders in oral and written forms in both Arabic and English.
-Ability to work under pressure and cope with stress in a conscientious and organised manner.
-Ability to work with groups and individuals at every level of society relating well with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
-Ability to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently and structure own work independently.
-Skills in facilitation, coaching, training and mentoring implementation.
-Excellent Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, Internet)
-A resident of Bethlehem and acquainted with Bethlehem and Hebron areas.

Education:

- Degree in community development, disability studies, communications, social sciences or related discipline.
