Responsibilities:
Under
the overall direction of the Chief Civilian Personnel Officer (CCPO ) the
incumbent will carry out the following tasks:
-Monitor/maintain time and
attendance records. Maintenance of annual leave balance records, compensatory
time off, sick leave, overtime, night differentials, hazard pay & processing
of leave request for all UNTSO local staff members;
-Provide clerical and
filling services to the National Staff Unit, including opening of new folders
for new staff.
-Take care of care of filling all documents and correspondence
in respect of active and retired UNTSO staff members;
-Give assistance in
completing MIP claims (MIP.2), check up the accuracy of the completed claims in
accordance with MIP rules as well as maintain records of the submitted
ones;
-Assist all UNTSO local staff members in completing P.84 forms when
they are due for it. Follow
-up the distribution of the periodic P.84 form
among UNTSO local staff members. Prepare a forwarding list to HQ/NY and keep
copies in a record file.
-Process contract extensions and generate extension
reports for locally recruited staff
-Generate I.D. renewal forms for locally
recruited staff
-Prepare certificates of employment for locally recruited
staff
-Backstop for the Human Resources Assistant during his/her
absence
-Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to
time.
-Advise staff members regarding their entitlements and the conditions
of service.
-Drafts and prepares written response to queries concerning HR
related matters.
-Undertakes research on a range of human resources related
issues and assists in the preparation of notes/reports.
-Reviews and
processes personnel actions through human resource automated systems and
applications.

Education
High school diploma or
equivalent.
Certificate in human resources management is an
advantage.
Work Experience
At least 5 years of
progressively responsible experience in human resource management, including at
least 3 years in recruitment with international organizations, preferably in the
United Nations
Languages
Fluency in spoken and
written English; working knowledge of spoken and written Arabic is an
advantage
