The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees invites applications from qualified candidates for the post of:

Deputy Head of Field Logistics Office

1-Vacancy No. : 043/2013/X
2-Duty Station : Field Office-Jerusalem
3-Department : Procurement & Logistics Department

4-Basic Salary : 1,054.4 JD+ that varies in accordance to the pay policies set by the Agency. Other fringe benefits include provident fund & health insurance.

5-Allowances : Family Allowances payable up to 7 children and spouse. An allowance of 1000 NIS payable in JD at UNRWA rate. 35% of the basic salary as Special Occupational Allowance

6-Qualifications:
-Advanced university degree in supply chain management, business administration, public administration, commerce or related field.
-Seven years experience in work related to the administration and operation of a complex office or field operation of which at least three years have been in a supervisory position. In addition to some experience related to procurement field.
-Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic.

Competencies:
-Demonstrated ability in standard computer applications used by the Agency.
-Proven ability to perform at the supervisory level with minimal direct supervision.
-Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain difficult issues.
-Demonstrated ability to manage the supply chain cycle.
-Strong organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines and to manage multiple tasks effectively and efficiently, prioritizing activities and assignment.
-Professionalism; judgment; decision making; commitment and integrity.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
-Requires a good standing and reputation with the business community and to be conversant with the laws, regulations and practice of the country of operations fundamental to facilitating the Agency’s interests in the logistics activities as related to procurement activities.
-Knowledge and experience with computerized logistics systems.
-Knowledge of applicable international transport and shipping laws and practices and regulations.
-Experience in accountancy.
-Additional coursework or training in logistics management.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Possession of a valid driving license.
