-West Bank- Gaza is seeking: Economic Development Technical
Specialist
The successful candidate will
-Research and design the establishment of WV JWG’s economic and livelihood creation strategies in WV operational areas
-Identify and promote strategies, tools, action plans and programs that contribute to local enterprise development
-Support development of livelihood and economic development proposals, business plans and activities
-Identify market opportunities and facilitate commercial linkages through business and trade institutions and agro-processing companies for farm and off-farm activities
-Identify and promote access to appropriate technology and information to strengthen performance and efficiency to local micro enterprises
-Conduct monitoring visits and submit monthly, quarterly and annually reports on Economic Development activities
Qualifications/Requirements
-Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Economic Development, Agricultural Economics or a related field. Masters degree prefered.
-At least 3 years’ experience in Economic Development
-Experience in micro finance programming and mechanisms, business and/or economic development.
-Ability to work as a team member in an interdisciplinary environment and contribute to this in capacity building at national and ADP offices
-Strong experience in capacity building and trainning of trainers
-Demonstrated experience in program or project design, implementation, monitoring evaluation and reporting
-Ability to identify and promote community economic development projects and initiatives and ability to analyze business plans
-Strong communications skills (English & Arabic)
-Thinking clearly, deeply and broadly
-Commitment to achieving quality results and service
Excellent analytical skills and problem solving skills
-Ability and willingness to travel internationally and locally to Project areas
-Valid driving license and ability to operate 4x4 vehicles
-Integrity and strong identification with WV Core Values
-Position is based in Jerusalem/Ramallah/Bethlehem
