Children has been working in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (oPt) since 1973
and is recognized for its commitment to accountability, innovation and
collaboration. Save the Children
currently implements programs in Child Protection, Education, Health, and
Livelihoods throughout the West Bank and Gaza.
Save the
Children is seeking qualified candidates to fulfill the position of Education
Project Assistant for its Gaza Office.
Type of
contract: Full Time, where holder of the post will be working under Save the
Children
regulations.
Duration
of contract: (11 months) Till March 31st 2013, with ability of
extension
Availability to work: Immidiately
The post
holder will provide technical support for the successful implementation of the
education project in Gaza, follow up of the activities in the field, coordinate
all needed support from SCI and provide all necessary reports and updates
concerning the project and its implementation activities, contribute to the
documentation of the project activities and events.
S/he will
contribute to ensuring successful, quality and timely accomplishment of program
activities in compliance with SCI policies and regulations.
S/he
reports to the Education Project Officer.
Requirements
-Diploma
or Bachelor decgree in social science, education and developmental studies or
any other related fields.
-At least
one year of experience in implemnting education projects and/or working with
children.
-Strong
communication and interpersonal skills.
-Ability
to manage a complex and diverse workload and to work to tight
deadlines.
-Ability
to contribute to a small, proactive team, motivating staff and working
collaboratively with colleagues and providing support and advice as
necessary.
-A full
appreciation of the value of co-operation, both internationally and within a
team environment.
-Written
and verbal fluency in English and Arabic required.
-Good
computer skills
-Commitment to Save the Children values
