1-Introduction: International Medical Corps (IMC) is a non- governmental global, humanitarian, non-profit organization
dedicated to provide mental health and psychosocial assistance to populations affected by wars, conflicts and disasters through the provision of services and capacity building. IMC overall aim is saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training and relief and development programs. Established in 1984 by volunteer doctors and nurses, IMC's mission is to improve the quality of life through health interventions and related activities that build local capacity in underserved communities worldwide.

2-Background:
In January 2013, IMC received a fund from the European Union (EU) to implement “Self Help Self Heal” project that aimed to improve the lives of mental health service users and service providers in Gaza following the 2012 military conflict while building local capacity and generating new knowledge.

IMC is seeking a Service Providers’ Trainer/Supervisor to conduct several trainings with service providers in the Gaza strip. The service providers are providing various mental health and psychosocial services within community (e.g. social workers, psychologists, and others).


The service providers receive more specialized theoretical and practical training on early best practices for interventions with children who experience trauma related symptoms. The service providers are expected to gain knowledge and skills to assess needs impact for children with trauma related symptoms. These service providers will address the needs of affected children, do basic psychosocial interventions, run activities with children & their families & redirect the children who need more specialized services (community mental health centres). This training will cover several topics such as Differential Diagnosis (mental illness and health related symptoms); advanced Client-Centred Counselling Skills and Knowledge; How to run effective counselling groups; updated Monitoring and Evaluation procedures; Psychological First Aid skills and knowledge; Crisis Interventions and needs assessment. This will reinforce and update original training and ensure that Case Managers maintain the good counselling skills and knowledge of evidence based practices.

3-Scope of Work:
-Training material to be used in the “Self Help Self Heal” project to be approved and discussed with IMC Mental Health Specialist (MHS) and mental Health Manager (MHM), at least a week before any training or supervision to be conducted.
-The training or supervision materials (if any external material will be used) should be sent to IMC for review or translation, if needed, at least one week before any implementation.
-The trainer/supervisor to prepare a schedule of training/supervision. This schedule to be discussed and approved by IMC MHS and MHM. The final schedule to be sent to IMC before implementation via e mail (at the end of the month)
-To conduct training and supervision on Dialectic Behavior Skills, as planned previously with IMC technical team.
-To conduct supervisory sessions to the trainees, on Dialectic Behavior Skills as required and scheduled by IMC team.
-The trainer/supervisor to use monitoring and evaluation (M & E) forms and tools produced by IMC M&E officer who will coordinate this process (Templates to be provided).

-To meet regularly with IMC MHS and MHM to report on schedule, progress, challenges and plan.
-To be supervised during the initial session of training and supervision by IMC technical team and receive/give feedback.


4-Minimum Qualification:
-Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist.
-At least 5 years of experience in working with Psychotherapy and mindfulness training with patients suffering from mental illness.
-Excellent technical skills & knowledge related to Dialectic Behavioral training Skills.
-Experience in teaching and supervising on Child, Adolescent and Adult mental health field.
-Excellent knowledge of & awareness of community organizations and services for referral.
-Excellent communication and presentation skills.
-High motivation to work & share clinical expertise.
-Flexibility in scheduling.
