Palestinian IT Association of Companies “PITA” is a non-profit organization, was founded in 1999, registered in Ministry of National Economy,
and representing the ICT sector in Palestine with more than 140 memberfrom various sub-sectors including hardware distributors, software development firms, telecommunications, IT consulting, IT training and related businesses.PITAjoined the efforts aiming to lead the innovation of the Palestinian ICT sector,guided byits 3 year Strategic Plan (2012-2015) with 5 main pillars.

One of those pillars are enhancing the ICT Human Talent, this includesInnovation Research (IR) program (IBTIKAR) toenable the creation of a culture of Innovation Research allowing ICT firms, in cooperation with universities, to explore their technological potential, develop and enhance their skills, connect with world class experts and finally provide them the incentive to profit from its commercialization.

To activate this new program, Innovation Research (IR) Program (IBTIKAR) will be launched starting 1th June 2013 in West Bank and Gaza.
Accordingly, a new job vacancy is opened to be filled based on the following details:

Job Opening
Job Title: Innovation Research Program Coordinator
PITA is looking for coordinator to be based in its office in Gaza, reporting to the Program Manager in WB with oversights from the Regional Manager in Gaza
Duration: One year (renewable upon budget availability)
Type: Full-time
 Starts: June 2013
 
Main duties and responsibilities include but not limited to
-Managing PITA’s program to support research conducted in by companies and universities teams. He/She will lead communications with stakeholders, PR and awareness efforts with this regards and will follow up on monitoring of implementation.
-Demonstrate team leadership and motivational skills to ensure that the team makes strong progress in delivering PITA’s ambitious objectives.
-Monitors program expenditures ensuring that budget allocations are not overspent.
-Coordinates activities of program with inter-related activities of other programs, departments or staff to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures and specifications
-Establish and maintain good relations and effective communications with all relevant stakeholders.
-Develops and facilitates workshops, meetings or conferences; coordinates logistics, scheduling and participant communications.
-Prepares periodic reports, financial statements and records on program activities, progress, status or other related reports for management , members and donors
 
Qualifications:
-BA in Business Administration sciences, or any related discipline
-At least 3 years of professional related experience
-Relevant experience in coordination and shaping similar projects.
-Broad experience in qualitative and quantitative research.
-Good knowledge and experience in data collection approaches, monitoring and evaluation.
-Familiar with problems- solving skills, presentation and communication skills.
-Wide local community experience with high talent in team work.
-Unique capacity to withstand the pressure of work.
-Excellent project management skills.
-Broad knowledge in dealing with local and external experts, and basic knowledge of public relation.
-Languages: Excellent Arabic and English
-Self-motivated to achieve required task and ability to integrate with others.
-Acceptable orientation to relevant stakeholders/partners and team members.
