Save the Children is the leading independent organization creating lasting change in the lives of children in need around the world.

Save the Children has been working in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (oPt) since 1973 and is recognized for its commitment to accountability, innovation and collaboration. Save the Children currently implements programs in Child Protection, Education, Health, and Livelihoods throughout the West Bank and Gaza.

Save the Children is seeking qualified candidates to fulfill the following vacancy: Advocacy Manager based in Ramallah office.

Main Responsibilities:
-Identify policy and practice change, on the basis of Save the Children’s experience, that would promote and protect the rights of children in the oPT.
-Develop and implement advocacy objectives and strategies, both short and long term, encompassing a wide range of issues and audiences.
-Ensure that voices of children form the basis of SC’s advocacy strategy.
-Develop good knowledge of local and national government structures, parliamentary and political processes and key decision making structures and how to influence them.
-Build systems for research, analysis and documentation that underpin evidence based advocacy and influencing at national and international levels.
-Develop dissemination and communication strategies for key advocacy messages.
-Produce reports, briefing papers and presentations for internal and external audiences
-Develop and maintain a network of external contacts with key individuals in the government, NGO sector, civil society and the media.
-Build the capacity of staff from SC and partner agencies in advocacy strategic planning.
-Ensure that all SC projects have a clearly developed advocacy component and provide ongoing support and guidance to program staff in monitoring and implementing advocacy activities.
-Contribute to the development of proposals and secure funding on behalf of the country programme where necessary.
-Support SC’s emergency and humanitarian responses, including the development of relevant advocacy strategies

Qualifications and Experience:
-University degree in international relations, communications or related social science field.
-Minimum of 5 years of experience in advocacy and policy development / research in the development context.
-Fluent English language skills (written and verbal).
-Experience in training others in advocacy techniques and influencing tactics.
-Prior work experience in the occupied Palestinian territory.
