Secours Islamique
France (SIF) is a Non-Governmental Organization of international solidarity
based in France.
Founded in 1991, SIF is a non-profit and non-political organization that
intends to help, to bring relief and to protect the lives of those threatened
by natural disasters, armed conflicts or by economic collapse. SIF is an
Islamic Relief worldwide family member and intervenes in more than 30 countries
around the world through operations of emergency aid, recovery and development.
It is present in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Europe. Our goal is to

-Position: Agriculture & Water and Sanitation project officer, Full time
-Location: SIF Ramallah Office, with frequent field visits to West Bank especially Jordan Valley
-Duration: One year
SUMMARY :
-Project officer’s work will be to ensure the good practices in the participatory approach but also partnership relationships of this project and the accurate needs assessment of both individuals and community in order to respond to their needs in a well tailored project. He/ She will also monitor and coordinate the activities of this comprehensive project in order to ensure the high quality and sustainable impacts of this project.
-This role includes flexibility (working days/time and trips).
QUALIFICATIONS AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
-Background education in agriculture, agriculture economy and water and sanitation.
-At least 3 years of relevant experience in agriculture and water & sanitation projects.
-A solid experience in project management
-High level computer skills: Microsoft Word, Email, Internet, Excel, Outlook
-Ability to undertake regular travel to program sites in West Bank
-Good knowledge of the cycle of project and project monitoring tools.
-Language skills (reading, writing, spoken) to working level in English and Arabic
-Demonstrated commitment to working as part of a team, in a support role
Qualities:

-Experience with Emergency/ Post Emergency/ Development situation.
SPECIFIC TASKS :
-Maintain overall responsibility for the efficiency and quality of project implementation.
-Coordinate and supervise the project implementation team, including the field implementation teams and implementing partners.
-Prepare detailed work plans (with inputs from the counterparts and supervise/monitor their implementation
-Liaise with the MoA and PWA to ensure that project interventions are consistent with the ongoing Ministry programs
-To ensure a good evaluation of future beneficiaries needs in terms of food security/ insecurity, agriculture and water & sanitation.
-To develop indicators, baseline and any other necessary tools for the future evaluation of the project.
-Monitor and evaluate the quality of the work in order to write a report to give guidance/ advices to reach the indicators and to guarantee the quality of the project.
-Prepare the structure of the participatory approach to maximize the quality of our project.
-To ensure the good relationship and efficient partners’ relationship
-Participate in selecting anticipated beneficiaries for the AWS project according to SIF criteria (interviews, …) in collaboration with the community and the partner NGOs.
-Identification and report on the various dynamics in the villages:
main public persons, solidarity systems, connection between each others …
-To brief SIF team on the situation and advices for the work to be implemented in these locations.
-Create a committee to be the referent in the participatory approach for the projects and advising them toward the good practice and quality.
-To ensure on time reporting on the projects to the Program Officer
-To perform any other duties requested by the supervisor.
-Translation from Arabic to English & vice versa.
DESIRABLE:
-Driving license.
-Master degree in management of humanitarian projects
-Relevant experience in the Jordan Valley and/or with similar type of project
