AMIDEAST, is an international, non-profit, educational organization in the West Bank and Gaza with offices throughout the Middle East and North Africa.

AMIDEAST is recruiting a number of positions for a USAID-funded project to be based in its Ramallah office.

Financial Officer
The Financial officer will be responsible for helping in Financial & Procurement services of the USAID Funded Project, such as the day-to-day accounting and financial processes, operations support, and providing support to the finance department and procurement team. Provide support in-terms of processing vouchers, and maintaining a financial record keeping system for the project. Assist in Procurement and logistics matters.

Overall Position Responsibilities:
-Managing the accounting and financial operations for the project, maintaining all accounting records.
-Prepare vouchers (Payments, Receipts and Journals) and assure full support documentation for project transactions.
-Prepare payroll sheet and related tax deductions
-Post vouchers, on daily base, into Deltek accounting software and insure appropriate and consistence coding of entries and transactions.
-Observe USAID Funded Project cash account and insure sufficiency of fund to cover due payments/expenses.
-Be the contact person with the project -Account-Hosted Bank regarding all correspondences and matters needed.
-Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for Project bank and petty cash accounts
-Prepare & manage all monthly, quarterly and annually financial reports.
-Monitor The USAID Project budget through updating the actual expenses on quarterly base.
-Communicate with vendors regarding payments processing, arrangements for VAT exemptions with the Palestinian Ministry of Finance.
-Filling all financial documents on a daily base.
-Following up with all related audit issues.
-Prepare and submit monthly VAT reports to USAID
-Any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications and Required Skills
-Bachelor’s degree preferably in accounting, finance or business administration.
-At least two years of experience in accounting, preferably with USAID funded projects.
-Fluency in English and Arabic.
-Excellent knowledge of software applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, and e-mail.
