located in Ramallah working in the infrastructure sector throughout the West
Bank is seeking experienced and qualified candidates for the following
position:
Local Aid Coordination
Secretariat (LACS) Coordination Officer ( Infrastructure Sector)
The purpose of this
position is to support the work of the Palestinian Authority (PA) - donor aid
coordination in the infrastructure sector - the Infrastructure Strategy Group
(ISG), Sector Working Groups (SWGs), and related groups on infrastructure issues
with the aim of improved aid effectiveness. The Infrastructure Coordination
Officer will be expected to have a very good overview of aid effectiveness and
development, PA strategies and priorities and donor interventions related to
infrastructure,affordable housing, environment, municipal development and local
governance, solid waste and water and sanitation.
This position is based
in Ramallah. Any candidate must be eligible to obtain a travel-permit to
travel
for meetings and other coordination outside of the West Bank.
This position is NOT a
secretary position, and requires extensive experience as noted below.
Minimum
Requirements:
-Minimum BA or BS in relevant infrastructure-related field
– civil engineering, urban planning,
rural development, environmental
studies, public administration or related infrastructure development issues
(with Master’s degree in relevant discipline an asset)
-Minimum 7 years of
professional experience in infrastructure development issues,
programme
development international aid coordination, preferably in the
Middle East (2 years spent on a relevant Master’s program may be counted as
years of professional experience)
-Fluent English with excellent drafting
abilities; fluent Arabic
-Extensive experience in infrastructure issues,
preferably in the Middle East
-Knowledge of aid harmonisation principles and
guidelines
-Excellent interpersonal, communications, problem-solving and
mediation skills
-Ability to quickly summarize and analyse large volumes of
information under tight deadlines
-Ability to multi-task under pressure and
with minimum supervision
-Ability to take initiative
-Attention to
detail
-Ability to represent LACS in high-level fora
-Experience in
working in multi-cultural teams
-Excellent word-processing and database
management skills (Excel)
Desirable
-Valid
driving license
-Experience in web posting
-Experience in
capacity-building initiatives
