Polish Humanitarian Action
(PAH) is a non-governmental organization founded in 1994 in Poland. PAH runs
both local and overseas operations.
We
have been running the mission in the State of Palestine since 2006 focusing on
water - sanitation and education. PAH implements
its overseas assistance in WASH Sector through its missions in West Bank/Gaza,
South Sudan and Somalia.
PAH
is seeking an experienced civil engineer, to work as a Site Engineer for one of
its projects funded by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which will be
implemented in two schools and an orphanage in West Bank – North Hebron and
Bethlehem Districts. The aim of the project is to build three new water cisterns
for school students and orphanage pupils, and conduct hygiene promotion
trainings. The Site Engineer will lead the tendering process, overlook the
construction works, assist with hygiene promotion trainings, and participate in
reporting.
Location: North Hebron and
Bethlehem Districts.
Duration: six months fixed
term contract
Position: Full – time, 40
working hours per week
Starting date: 1st of April
2013
Key
qualifications and Skills:
-Bachelor's degree in civil engineering;
-registered in Engineers Association – Jerusalem
Centre;
-minimum 3 years of proved, relevant work experience
on construction site;
-good organizing skills;
-ability to solve technical tasks on their own, keep
track of documentation including budget control, ability to find solutions to
new issues;
-ability to prepare technical drawings;
-independency;
-ability to work under time pressure;
-good team worker;
-fluent in English;
-ability to write reports in English;
-MS Office advanced level knowledge;
-valid driving licence and an available car;
