Job Title:
Coordinator of Student Academic Services

Job
Objective/Summary:
The
Coordinator of Student Academic Services works closely with the Assistant Vice
President for Academic Affairs and is responsible for a wide range of services
and functions supporting the academic and educational needs of students and
ensuring their delivery is in accordance with University policies and
regulations.
Duties
& Responsibilities:
Main
routine duties:
The
routine duties of this position will regularly include, but are not limited
to:
Contribution to university policy development and implementation
related to student services, academic advising, teaching, learning, and
assessment.
Collaboration with the Registrar of all student issues related to
registration, progression, awards, and graduation.
Coordination with advisors, chairs and deans in all matters related
to student academic advising, registration, absences, changing majors or minors,
readmission, and progression towards graduation.
Management
of the process of enrolment of students transferring from other
universities.
Development and implementation of student recruitment programs
including school visits, publications and university open
days.
Maintaining contact with Finance Office on all financial matters
pertaining to students such as tuition payment and scholarships as
needed.
Management
of Student Help Desk that handles student appeals of academic decisions and
special requests of academic nature.
Coordination of student activities with Dean of Students Office when
Academic Office involvement is needed.
Periodic duties:
Developing
working partnership with feeder schools in Bethlehem and Jerusalem region and
beyond.
Maintains
an updated Webpage on Admission of New Students.
Coordinating with departments and Registrar’s Office the selection of
courses, transfer of credits, and other matters related to BU students
participating in exchange program.
Updating
the section on academic affairs in the annual Student Handbook published by the
Dean of Students Office.
Participating in the New Students Orientation programs organized by
the Dean of Students Office, Faculties and Departments.
Performs
other tasks assigned by the Vice President for Academic
Affairs.
Responsibilities:
(Such as
membership on committees or councils).
Is a
member of the Committee for Students with Special Needs.
Is a
member of the Graduation Committee.
Special
Working Conditions: (Such as frequent traveling or working
outdoors).
Occasional
evening, weekend, or holiday work for special visits and University
events.
Local
travel such as to schools, local universities and
organizations.

Work
Status: Part Time
Work
Schedule: Half-time job for 4 hours a
day with a flexible schedule to accommodate teaching schedule if applicable, or
20 hours per week.
Educational Requirements:
Masters
Degree
Bachelor
Degree with relevant experience may be considered
Experience Requirements:
At least
five years experience in teaching in higher education. Administrative experience
desirable
