The
World Council of Churches’ (WCC) Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine
and Israel (EAPPI) is looking for two part time “Field Assistants”.
Position: Field Assistant –
North WB
Contract: Part time service
contract (27 hours/week)

Main
Responsibilities:
-Monitor the situation on the ground & keep
up-to-date with the general socio-political situation, and report significant
developments to Jerusalem Coordination Office.
-Supervise structure and develop the work of EAPPI on
the ground.
-Independently or with EAs, conduct rapid or in-depth
needs assessment in areas of interest for EAPPI.
-Work closely with EAPPI teams, to define, design and
implement new tasks in the field.
-In coordination with the Local Program Coordinator,
advise EAs on security aspects
-Advise EAs on their interactions with local contacts
and act as an interpreter to overcome language barriers.
-Act as a focal point to EAPPI’s local contacts in the
area of responsibility
-Organize and participate actively in meetings with
NGOs, village councils, local authorities, etc. and report appropriately.
-Network and liaise on joint actions at the field
level with local and International Organisations and CBOs active in the area of
responsibility.
-Ensure that logistical needs of EAPPI’s teams in the
field related to apartments, equipment (cameras, laptops,..etc) and
transportation are fulfilled
Key
Qualifications:
-University degree in social science or related
field
-A minimum of three years work experience in the field
and working with local communities
-Fluent command of spoken and written English and
Arabic. Knowledge of Hebrew is a plus
-Strong knowledge of roads and communities in WB South
and North with ability for daily travels
-Excellent computer skills mainly in the Microsoft
applications
-Knowledge of the socio-political context in the West
Bank
-Ability to work under pressure and around irregular
hours
-Proactive and self motivated
-Possession of a valid driving licence and own a
car
