Main Responsibilities
In
accordance with Agency policy and procedures, the ideal candidate will:
-
Performs the full range of chemical, bio-chemical, serological, microscopic and
bacteriological tests referred to him/her by Medical Officers in the centre to
which he/she is assigned;
-
Maintains laboratory records and registers, prepares and submits statistical
reports and other relevant information on work performed;
-
Maintains laboratory equipment, supplies and reagents and prepares estimates of
requirements for replenishment of consumable supplies;
-
Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL
COMPETENCIES
-
Completion of a course in laboratory techniques of two years duration from an
institution recognized by UNRWA.
-
At least two years experience as laboratory technician;
-
Experience in the use of computers and an understanding of their use in health
applications.
-
Good command of written and spoken English and Arabic.
-
Ability to work under pressure and cope with heavy workload;
-
Adequate computer skills;
-
Excellent organizational and communication skills;
-
Self-motivated.
Conditions Of Service-
Fixed Term Post

Basic Salary: Monthly basic salary $ 644.80; plus a currency adjustment factor
(present rate 14%) and monthly dependency allowance up to $123.25.

Contract Duration: Three years including 1 year probation period

Leave: 30 days annual leave

Pension: Provident Fund contribution

A regular staff member can apply to the LDC post but will not be allowed to
assume such post through secondment as he/she needs to leave his/her current
post to accept LDC appointment.
EQUIVALENCY Candidates with
an equivalent combination of relevant academic qualifications, professional
training and progressive work experience may also be considered
