iPal is an online-based platform of Palestinian youth. It is
dedicated to nurturing the intellectual growth and creative curiosity of the
Palestinian students in Gaza Strip,West Bank, and Jerusalem.
iPal encourages
students and youth to become agents of change by supporting them in their
educational pursuits during their most formative years. These students will
become successful Young Leaders able to participate in the internal Palestinian
issues and policies.
iPal had launched
its Youth Media Project that promotes Media volunteerism to support young media
activists. Volunteerism can transform the pace and nature of development, and
it benefits both society at large and the individual volunteer. iPal
contributes to peace and development by advocating for volunteerism globally,
encouraging partners to integrate volunteerism into development programming,
and mobilizing volunteers.

iPal is seeking a volunteer
to be assigned as ` Field Coordinator Assistant`. The position takes place in the Gaza City, where the incumbent reports
to iPal Coordinator in Gaza Strip. This post is an iPal Volunteers assignment
and based on the values of free will, commitment, engagement and solidarity,
which are the foundations of volunteerism. Volunteering brings benefit to the
individual volunteer. It makes important contributions, economically, as well
as socially. It contributes to creating social cohesion and capital, through
helping to build trust and reciprocity among citizens.
Responsibilities:
- Follow up with
iPal youth board in Gaza and recruit new members to the iPal youth board in
Gaza
- Organize and
coordinate monthly meetings for the iPal youth board in Gaza, and writing
minutes in Arabic – translate to English, as required.
- Promote iPal
vision and mission among youth, student groups, and civil society
organizations.
- Support in
arranging and facilitating media related training courses
- Serve as iPal
Gaza strip coordinator in the absence of the current coordinator
- Enhance existing
communication strategies and roll out new communication methods with the aim of
reaching a broader youth audience
- Perform other
duties as assigned
- Propose short and
long terms projects, events, activities and ideas.
- Cooperate with
other actors on the field (youth organizations and youth groups)

Education and work
experience: Youth activists and active senior students of all majors with an experience
in social activism are highly encouraged to apply. Selection is based on
motivation and the applicant`s ability to perform the responsibilities and
competencies required for this position. Recruitment for this position is
subject to embracing the iPal Core Values as stated in the declaration of
principles.
Languages: English
and Arabic are the working languages of iPal. For the post advertised, fluency
in oral and written Arabic and proficiency in oral and written English is
required. Knowledge of French is an advantage.
Assessment Methods:
Evaluation of qualified applicants may include an assessment exercise which,
for successful candidates, will be followed by a competency-based interview.
Notice: This post
is funded from extra budgetary resources, covering transportation and
communications fees are up to 75 dollars per month. The initial appointment is
for a period of one year. After completion of the post, the incumbent will
receive a certificate for completing the iPal Youth Program for Field
Coordinator Assistant.
