Main Responsibilities
In accordance with Agency
policy and procedures, the ideal candidate:
- Is
responsible for the operation and administration of the health centre or health
unit if in charge of such centre;
- In
the Field of operation, the Medical Officer is responsible for a general clinic
and/or other special services i.e. maternal and child health services, control
of communicable and non-communicable diseases, school health and hospital
referrals (if in charge of the health centre);
- In
the field of administration, if in charge of a health centre, is responsible for
the supervision of other staff assigned to the centre, as well as for the public
health and administrative aspects of the health programme including reporting,
personnel supervision, school health and environmental sanitation ( if assigned
to a camp);
- Performs such other
duties as may be assigned.
Personal
& Professional Competencies
-
A medical degree from a recognized university including an internship of at
least twelve months duration.

Possession a valid governmental licence to practice medicine in the country of
duty station.

At least two years experience in medical practice.

Good command of written and spoken English and Arabic.
Conditions
Of Service- Fixed Term Post
-
Basic Salary: Monthly basic salary $1,215.00; plus a currency adjustment factor
(present rate 17%) and monthly dependency allowance up to
$123.25.

Contract Duration: Three years including 1 year probation
period.

Leave: 30 days annual leave

Pension: Provident Fund contribution

Service- Ldc Post
- Basic Salary:
Monthly basic salary $ 1,397.20; plus a currency adjustment factor (present rate
17%).
- Contract
Duration: One year.
- Other conditions
of service and benefits may apply.
- A regular staff
member can apply to the LDC post but will not be allowed to assume such post
through secondment as he/she needs to leave his/her current post to accept LDC
appointment
EQUIVALENCY
Candidates with an
equivalent combination of relevant academic qualifications, professional
training and progressive work experience may also be considered
