The Economic and Social Development Centre of Palestine (ESDC) is an independent Palestinian nonprofit civil society organization.
ESDC works on integrated rural development in Palestine through economic and social empowerment of cooperatives, individuals and marginalized groups. ESDC is seeking highly qualified Capacity Building Specialist (CBS) to work in Gaza Strip according to the following:
ESDC works on integrated rural development in Palestine through economic and social empowerment of cooperatives, individuals and marginalized groups. ESDC is seeking highly qualified Capacity Building Specialist (CBS) to work in Gaza Strip according to the following:
Duration: 11 months (extendable).
Job summary:
Under the supervision of the project coordinator, the CBS is part of the cooperatives capacity building project team. The CBS will contribute to building the institutional and Business capacities of the targeted cooperatives and groups in harmony with the project objectives.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
-Conduct assessment for the targeted communities,
-Provide technical support for the targeted coops/group.
-Prepare scope of work, TORs, forms, tools for the needed tasks in the projects in a professional
manner.
-Conduct follow up, guidance and monitoring field visits.
-Coordinate and implement the planned activities on a results based basis .
-Train the targeted group in capacity building topics.
-Support materials development for capacity building topics.
-Serve as technical advisor and support to the project management.
-Assist in the M&E through collecting and documenting the data to ensure the impact of project
activities.
Qualifications:
-Master degree in field of Institutional Capacity Building, with a strong background in cooperatives, small business development, marketing, products / services development, strategic planning management and financial systems.
-Minimum of 5 years experience in the field of community based organizational development;
-Solid experience in working in the field of institutional and business capacity building, preferably with women and youth groups.
Skills and Competencies
-Proven experience in performing the mentioned tasks and responsibilities.
-Excellent communication, facilitation and listening skills
-Ability to multi-task, prioritise and work effectively in a highly collaborative team environment.
-Strong interpersonal skills including demonstrated communication and personnel management
skills.
-Personal commitment to socio-economic aspect.
-Excellent report writing skills and proficiency in the English Language.
