The United
Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees invites applications from
qualified candidates for the posts of:
Area
Health Officer
1-Vacancy No.: 037/2013/X
2-Duty Station : Nablus Area
3-Department : Health department
4-Basic Salary : 1.053.8 JD+ that varies in accordance to the pay policies set by the Agency. Other fringe benefits include provident fund & health insurance.
5-Allowances : Family Allowances payable
up to 7 children and spouse.
An allowance of 35% as Special Occupational Allowance.
6-Qualifications:
-A medical degree from a school of medicine recognized by the Agency and a certificate of
completion of 12-months internship.
-Post-graduate degree in public health or a related health discipline.
-A license to practice medicine in the country of duty station.
-At least seven years professional working experience of which three years should have been in
a supervisory position with public health services, preferably with the Agency.
-Excellent command of spoken and written Arabic and English.
Competencies
-Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others in team working environment.
-Excellent communication and negotiation skills, sound judgment and demonstrated problem solving skills.
-Leadership and ability to organize and implement the health training programmes.
-Supervisory skills and ability to develop staff.
-Very good analytical and reporting skills.
-Ability to use the computer especially programmes used by UNRWA and health statistical applications.
-Ability to work under pressure and cope with heavy workload.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
-Diploma in public health administration.
-Possession of a valid driving license in the country of duty station.
