Food Security and Livelihoods manager - BASED IN GAZA
One year Fixed – term contract (Renewable)
National Position (THIS POSITION ATTRACTS NATIONAL BENEFITS ONLY)
Job Purpose:
To contribute to the delivery of Oxfam's strategic objectives and programme, particularly in the areas of food security & livelihoods, through the design, planning, management, analysis and reporting of assigned programme areas with a focus on supporting the FSL Coordinator, to work effectively and sensitively with the FSL team and partners, providing support and suggesting capacity building when necessary, to contribute to wider understanding and development of the programme and its outcomes and lessons. Overall effective management of Oxfam FSL team and local partner teams in Gaza to ensure effective implementation and meeting the objectives of Oxfam GB Gaza's Food Security and Livelihoods interventions.
Skills and Competencies:
-Education in social sciences to degree level, or equivalent. Post-graduate and other training qualifications is an advantage
-Strong conceptual and analytical skills, and ability to think/operate innovatively and strategically
-Demonstrable commitment and experience in inter-community dialogue and appreciation of the relevance of gender and identity issues in development and conflict
-Personal qualities that ensure effective work with other people and self-management, including flexibility, respect for others, and sense of humour
-Effective member of team and role model; demonstrates creativity in seeking better ways to do things and shares with team, and promotes high standards.
-Experience in working with partners including capacity development and designing/facilitating capacity development in FSL.
-Demonstrated experience of integrating gender into programming.
-Proven decision making capability.
-Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic/support in proposal writing
-Contributing to strategic development at a wider level within the program.
