The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees invites applications from qualified candidates for the posts of:
Communications and Information Assistant
1. Vacancy No. : 005/2013/X
2. Duty Station : Field Office-Jerusalem
3. Department : Operations Office
4. Basic Salary : 581.8 JD+ that varies in accordance to the pay policies set by the Agency.
Other fringe benefits include provident fund & health insurance.
5. Allowances : Family Allowances payable up to 7 children and spouse.
An allowance of 1000NIS payable in JD at UNRWA rate.
6. Qualifications:
-Diploma in communications, business and office practice or other related discipline.
-At least two years combined experience in communications and clerical work.
-At least two years experience of working in an international organization.
-Proven knowledge of West Bank geography and political and security situation.
-Good command of written and spoken English and Arabic.
-Good knowledge of Hebrew language (full comprehension/understanding/ writing).
Competencies
-Ability to work under stress, to remain calm in emergencies and respond quickly in real time to security incidents.
-Ability to work independently especially during night/afternoon shifts.
-Good analytic and judgment skills.
-Ability to maintain confidentiality.
-Intermediate computer skills.
-Intermediate knowledge in report writing and presentation skills.
-Jerusalem ID holder
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
-Fluent in Hebrew.
-Jerusalem ID holder
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This position requires that the incumbent be time flexible; to work on any of three shifts (morning/afternoon/
night) and to work on public holidays.
